I sit in a forest of green listening to the morning songs of birds’ unseen and the distant drumming of a determined woodpecker.
Squirrels scurry about the rugged tree trunks leaping from branch to branch.
The sun gently filters through the forest bathing all it touches with its sweet golden light.
There is a chill in the air but it is still.
The long elegant limbs of tall unassuming pines towering high above me float ever so gently upon the cold crisp air.
Crows call to one another as they travel to their familiar roost as they begin a new day.
Beautiful lime green shoots unfurl towards the warming sun as they welcome in another season of life.
Fresh.
New.
Untouched.
Perfect in every way.
The smell of distant blossoms filter through the air as a reminder that spring is in full bloom.
White puffy clouds hang in the sky unhurried for nowhere to go.
Life is being lived one beat, one tune, one ray of light at a time.
Welcomed yet uninvited.
My presence is what Mother Nature seeks so that I too can grow into my best self.
It is this connection—to all that is—that will be our saving grace.
For when we become one with all that is, all we can do from that point forward is praise, preserve and protect.
The natural world is alive and well.
Absorb the grandeur of it all.
Appreciate the magic as it fills your senses.
Breathe her into the crevices of your soul.
Her resilience is unmatched.
Her inspiration forever uplifting.
To simply sit in her presence is a gift.
So be grateful for the air that fills your lungs with each and every inhale.
Relish the clean water that quenches your thirst.
Release from the grip that binds you by placing your barren feet upon the lush green earth taking in her healing energy.
These simple pleasures are a gift from Mother Nature.
Open your heart to the beauty that abounds and you open your world to unlimited possibilities.
Be thoughtful and grateful for what you’ll receive in return is an abundance of love.
Love your inspirational words to regenerate and preserve. Now I must go outside to listen, feel and heal.
Thank you, Chris!!! Hope you had a lovely time outside.
Very well done. Very uplifting in a time of tension and unpredictability. It is easy to forget how much we can learn from Mother Nature. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration.
Always my pleasure to share the subtle reminders!
Ah yes, spring! It is an awakening and a wonderful time for new sights and sounds as you have described so elegantly Karen! This is a magical time of year, not only during the day but come nightfall are heard some my favorite sounds from nature. Owls question the darkness, frogs harmonize and our favorite coyote family has returned and reminds me at 3am that they are ready to party!!! Gotta love it!
Yes, those magical nocturnal critters! Definitely love the 3am parties!!!!
You my dear are an artist. You paint such beautiful pictures with your words. Your words transport me to a space that is unfamiliar to my suburban surroundings yet familiar to the essence of my being. Every sound, every fragrance, every color, each gentle breeze is magically brought to life in such a way that it refreshes the spirit and energizes the soul.
Thank you for reminding us there is grace and beauty in every living thing around us. And all of natures gifts are there for all of us to be appreciated, nurtured and enjoyed. Now, I’m going to go hug my trees, they are all waking up and probably wondering where I am!! Yes, I am literally a tree hugger.
Thank you! I love that you’re a fellow tree hugger!! Trees have so much wisdom to share, perhaps that is one of the reasons you yourself are so wise!!
Wow, Karen! Your words transported me! Tranquil, calm, peace! Warm sun hitting my face, watching and truly listening to the sounds of nature!❤
Thanks, Terese! I’m so glad my words were able to transport you to experience the magic Mother Nature has to offer.
Oh yes, and I will go outside again and breathe deeply and think of your poetry, Karen.
xxoox
Just lovely. Thank you for sharing your thoughts so beautifully and thus enriching our lives.
Sandy
Thank you Sandy! I’m so grateful it touched you.
